Why I'm Writing This Blog
The following is a page from my 4th grade journal, exactly as I wrote it at the time.
April 18
Jamie I hate She keeps lurring us in and snap she gets us...Kailyn calls it the trap Emily fell for the trap! I'm going to Mrs. Treejonnee for help. I need to play with Alicia more. Do not go up to Savvann's room ever again! I am running for Charthcer Ed Rep. Probaly will not make it through the primary rounds. It is just a populartity contest. I am going to write a story.
Every once in a while, I find an old journal of mine and read it. And cringe at what I wrote. (I was a real drama queen back then.). But re-reading my old stories and stuff always reminds me of how important it is to keep some sort of record of your life. Even if it's just the random occurences of your day. Because, like it or not, those little day to day things are what make you who you are. Each thing I talked about in that journal has some importance to me, whether it's a funny story it reminds me of or a connection I can make to my life now. It's really easy to get caught up in the future, in what will happen someday. But if you don't know who you were and who you are now, you can't even begin to think about who you will be. And that is why I'm writing this blog. To remember those little things that make a big difference.
Side Note: Jamie and I became best friends. I made it past the primary rounds for Character Ed Rep, but lost in the end. And, I went up to Savannah's room again many times.
